WORKING AT BARK
Working at BARK has been an amazing experience. The design team is super creative, always inspiring me to think outside the box and come up with innovative toys for our furry customers. My coworkers are true team players and so friendly. They’ve been supporting my professional growth and I am beyond thankful to be working with so many talented people.
GRADUATE STUDENT MERIT AWARD
The IDSA Student Merit Award is a student recognition promoted by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), one of the most prestigious design associations in the world. I applied for this award as a graduate student, right before concluding my master’s program at RIT. It was a huge surprise to know I was contemplated with the 2021 Northeast District Graduate Student Merit Award since there were so many talented students applying nationwide. This award made me look back and be really proud of everything I have accomplished so far. It is an honor to me and I hope this can open the doors for many other female Latina designers, encouraging them to apply and promote their work.
2021 INTERNATIONAL DESIGN CONFERENCE
The winners of the IDSA Student Merit Award also have the opportunity of presenting their work at the International Design Conference (IDC). IDC is one of the most prestigious conferences in the world and it will happen on September 22–23, following a 24-hour virtual conference format. I am super excited to represent RIT and BARK alongside so many inspiring creatives. It will be an incredible time and I am so happy to share this great experience with all of you.
